Hello, I am so pleased that you have decided to stop and read my profile. I think that you are here because you are thinking about or have decided that you are ready to have therapy because you are or have been experiencing emotional difficulties and distress. Perhaps you’re looking for a therapist for a friend or family member.
No matter the reason welcome. Coming for therapy is often a new experience and can feel frightening. However, it is the beginning of a journey of self-healing whilst being supported by a trained professional. Psychotherapy is a concentrated time to focus on yourself. A chance to explore aspects of your life and relationships, a safe space to look at yourself and deal with challenges in life with emotional support. Sometimes it is difficult to know why we are feeling unhappy, and it takes courage to make that first move, to step out of our comfort zone and look for support from somebody outside your circle of friends and family.
My approach is collaborative, strategic, structural, and dialogical. My practice is integrative, as I draw heavily from a narrative approach because I am interested in themes, the language we use, our family scripts, the stories told about us and stories we tell ourselves. I operate a non-judgemental approach, maintaining my ethical and professional boundaries.
I am passionate about my work and committed in supporting to my clients to explore their difficulties and achieve the outcomes that they want as well as helping families and individuals to make and sustain change that enables healthier communication. I see ‘the problem as the problem and not the person’ because problems are embedded in relationships and context and not within people. Each human is unique, and therefore the true experts on themselves. I believe it is important that clients are in control of the therapeutic process, and that the direction and depth we go to in sessions are informed and guided by them. I believe that within a safe and caring therapeutic relationship people may develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and ultimately find the power within themselves to move forward.
As a systemic psychotherapist it invites me to identify deeply entrenched patterns within relationships and help to uncover the ways in which members communicate and behave within a relationship based on beliefs about their respective roles. I am creative in my work and use various tools to support my work working always sensitively within a non-blaming, inclusive and collaborative manner that promotes respect for every individual’s experience and opinions.
I am a UKCP and AFT registered psychotherapist with 30 years’ experience in mental health working with children, young people, adults, couples, and families from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds. I am also a registered member of the Black African and Asian Therapy Network [BAATN]. I completed my training in Systemic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock & Portman Centre in London. I have also achieved an MA in Child Forensic Studies Psychology & Law, a BSc (Hons) in Social Science and a Diploma in Social Work.
I chose to become a Systemic Psychotherapist as it is fundamentally different from other therapies. The work invites people to mobilise the strengths of their relationships to make challenging situations less problematic. It also focuses on the interactions and relationships between members of the family to help them address any problems and to move on.
I have a particular interest in relieving the combined effects on mind and body of unresolved trauma as I understand that upsetting events, relationships, or painful emotions may block self-belief in our ability to heal ourselves. My other interests are attachment issues, sexual trauma, unresolved trauma, domestic abuse, eating disorders, couples therapy, separated and divorce parents adult childhood trauma and abuse. I have worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, loss and separation, domestic abuse and toxic relationships, personality disorders, PTSD/CPTSD, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, low self-esteem, low self-worth, survivors of cyber and direct bullying, bereavement, child abuse, adult and adolescent living with all types of eating disorders especially anorexia nervosa in which I am trained in the Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA).
I am currently working part time with trauma in a prestigious CAMHS T4 hospital. My work is with high-risk patients on a general adolescent ward and with patients on an eating disorder ward. Most of the patients that I work with are s3 of the Mental Health Act 1983. I also work part time in my own private practise in which you can contact me at corale@time2healpsychothepy.com
I am known for my warmth and aim to create a space where my clients feel valued, particularly the parts of them that have felt undervalued, ashamed, worthless, and guilty.
Through this healing space, it has allowed my clients to voice what was previously unsaid so that they can tell a new more hopeful story.
TESTIMONIALS
I am sorry that we will have to leave our journey with you here, it was a pleasure talking to you and I wish you the very best.

I appreciate your input and it’s good to know that you do more than I thought you did in terms of trauma-focused work/ elements of CBT.
if we can also leave the door open that would be great? (I appreciate it may not be a fast slot back in as and when, but can cross that bridge if we come to it).
Thanks and best

I am doing well, and had a lovely Christmas, I've been managing well which I think is good, having all my meals and snacks and the last time I weighed was exactly a month ago.
And I think that is very much because of your help and support over the last year.
I think I am doing good to stop sessions, but is there any possibility to return to sessions if I feel I need to if you would be happy to see me?
I absolutely found our work together very helpful, I still think of all our sessions, climbing the mountain and hearing your voice rooting me on which is still very helpful now.
I have also managed to get my weight up 10kg which I think is good!
Again, I hope you are doing well Corale, and lots of people are still benefiting from your truly wonderful support and care.
I still am, even after stopping sessions - thank you!
Best Wishes,
M (Jan 2023)
We are so extremely grateful for all the care and support you have given to the three of us, and of course in particular to H, over the last terribly difficult 18 months.
No doubt there will continue to be many challenges. But we do feel that H, and all of us, are in a better place now than we were then. And your support and care has been a huge part of that.
We hold you in a special place in our hearts.
With best wishes from

(End of Family sessions)
It is impossible to thank you for all your time and input and the changes you guided K and the family through. It is hard to remember what a dark place we were all in a few years ago.
You were critical to K’s engagement with recovery and to the transition home and ongoing.
I hope this reaches you well and you continue to change people’s lives in the incredible way you were able to change all of ours.
Very best wishes
